This is Me, Sara

Updated: Jul 27, 2022

You may know me best through what I love. I cherish my husband and Standard Poodles, all my friends, all my neighbors. I adore the Spirit in the world which calls us to higher and deeper lives. I delight in natural beauty: gardening, as well as the mountains, forests, grasses, flowers and lakes of the Sierra Nevada. I savor history, indeed I feel bigger as a result of my studies. I take joy in music, singing and indeed all art: paintings, dancing, sculpture, stained glass, architecture. I relish singing. I love vintage jewelry so much it feels I could eat it. I love vintage clothing. I love to craft jewelry. I love to assist a person to grow deeper into his/her real self. I love to write.

You may also know more about me through my own history. At age 13 my family moved from what I thought as my idyllic home in Eastern Washington to the strange world of California. I married young, received a BA in History and MA in Psychology. Divorces are painful and mine was no different. Now my soul mate and I have been married for 29 years. Two decades ago we moved from his familial home in southern Southern California to the beautiful town on the Truckee River.

I practiced as a psychological therapist for 35 years, becoming intimately familiar with pain and rebirth. I have landscaped, hiked the High Sierra, cultivated the lives of young people, sang in choirs, had herds of Standard Poodles, and fell in love with a Protestant liturgical church. From Graduate School to the present I’ve worn and am selling vintage clothing, jewelry and all kinds of accessories. I create original and unique jewelry. I've always written.

I love to write. I love to write about what I see and that brings me to a deeper meaning about what I see. Writing satisfies my quest to be wholly myself. I love to write.

Hmmmm. Perhaps that is enough about me. You can always ask questions and I would love to answer with the caveat of keeping very personal things personal. Tell me about you. Let's be friends.

That is beautiful. When I met you in 1969 in the sophomore quad at our high school, I never would have known you weren’t a long time local in our town. I love to write too. You have to inspired me. -Susan (Knock) Beck
